The village of Wallyford is lit up with community spirit this winter – and a big part of that sparkle is down to the support of local firm R3 Direct.
In the weeks leading up to the festive season, the community council had issued a fundraising appeal to help cover rising costs associated with the village’s annual streetlights display; the kind of “light appeal” described as vital to keeping Wallyford bright as the nights draw in. R3 Direct answered the call.
R3 Direct’s contribution went far beyond a simple donation. The company stored all the Christmas lights, tested them in advance, and handled the full installation on the street lampposts and in early December, the lights were switched on, transforming the village. Looking ahead to the New Year, the R3 Direct team will once again take the lead by dismantling and safely storing the lights for the community council until next season.
The R3 Direct team have also added a very personal touch this year. Their own Charlie Cooley took on the role of Santa Claus at the village’s Playgroup Sponsored Walk, where the children and families managed to raise £1,327.50 for the lights fund. That sum brings the community council much closer to the budget needed to keep Wallyford glowing this festive season.
R3 Direct is proud to support Wallyford’s festive light tradition and delighted to have played a hands-on role, from storage and installation to the switch-on and Santa’s visit. Because of community fundraising efforts and R3 Direct’s help, Wallyford can look forward to a bright, joyful festive season.
