Last week, R3 Repairs brought together more than 50 members of staff and operatives for our Annual Staff Away Day, held at the Maitlandfield House Hotel. The event provided a valuable opportunity to step away from day-to-day operations, reflect on the past year, and focus on what lies ahead…together.
The Away Day plays a key role in ensuring everyone across the business is aligned, informed, and engaged, reinforcing R3’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Setting the Scene
The day began with morning rolls, tea, and coffee before Charlie officially welcomed everyone and set the scene for the discussions ahead. This opening session highlighted the importance of bringing the whole team together and recognised the contribution every individual makes to the success of the business.

Performance and Financial Update
Charlie and Gary delivered a comprehensive overview of R3’s performance and financial position for 2025/26. The update demonstrated a positive year for the business, with strong operational performance, controlled expenditure, and continued investment into R3’s future. Importantly, the session clearly explained what these results mean for staff, including ongoing stability and continued rewards and recognition.
Operational Overview
Dave provided an in-depth operational overview, sharing key achievements from across the year. From thousands of reactive repairs completed to major installations and planned works, the figures showcased the scale and impact of the team’s efforts. Updates on training, development, fleet, and health and safety performance reinforced R3’s focus on supporting staff and maintaining high standards across all sites.

Quality, Safety and Efficiency
Jackie led the session on Quality, Safety, and Efficiency, with a particular focus on ISO standards. The presentation highlighted why ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 matter, not just for compliance, but for improving efficiency, reducing risk, winning new business, and creating a safer, more sustainable workplace. Staff were encouraged to continue engaging with processes, audits, and reporting to help drive improvements.
Looking Forward
After the break, Charlie, Dave, and Leah shared R3’s vision for the future. Topics included business growth opportunities, system improvements, facility upgrades, brand refresh plans, and ongoing investment in people. The session reinforced the message that R3 is in a strong position and focused on long-term, sustainable growth.
Group Exercises and Q&A
The Away Day also gave staff the chance to have their voices heard. Group exercises encouraged open discussion around what R3 should start, stop, and continue doing to improve quality, health and safety, and environmental performance. This was followed by a Q&A session, allowing attendees to raise questions and share feedback directly with the leadership team.
Closing the Day
The event concluded with a close-of-meeting summary and a group photograph, capturing a team united by shared goals and a commitment to excellence.
The R3 Annual Staff Away Day was a positive and engaging event, reinforcing the “Stronger Together” message and highlighting the value of open communication, teamwork, and forward thinking. A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day such a success.
